Quality Control Engineer
Role Overview
Drive end-to-end quality assurance for conductor and aluminium alloy products. You will own in-process inspection, final testing, NABL lab operations, and customer audit readiness to ensure every shipment meets BIS and IEC specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct dimensional, mechanical, and electrical testing on conductors per IS/IEC standards
- Perform in-process quality checks at wire drawing, stranding, and packaging stages
- Operate and maintain NABL-accredited testing lab instruments (UTM, conductivity meters, micrometers)
- Prepare and review test certificates, mill test reports, and quality dossiers for dispatch clearance
- Handle customer complaints, conduct 8D investigations, and implement CAPA
- Lead internal audits and support external audits (ISO 9001, BIS, customer audits)
- Maintain calibration schedules and ensure instrument accuracy
Requirements & Qualifications
- B.Tech / B.E. in Metallurgy, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- 2–5 years in QC/QA within conductor, cable, or metals manufacturing
- Thorough knowledge of IS 398, IS 2141, IS 8130, and IEC 61089
- Hands-on experience with UTM, hardness testers, and conductivity measurement equipment
- ISO 9001:2015 internal auditor certification preferred
